Personal Profile :
Peter Ravensbergen (50 years) is Business Developer for Global Sustainable Fresh and Food Supply Chains. His focus is on post-harvest management, quality driven logistics, and processing of products. His task is to translate knowledge questions from private companies from all over the world into research propositions, of which the outcome will support the private companies in improving their businesses.
Peter works as Program Leader Food Security at the Food & Biobased Research Institute of Wageningen University & Research in The Netherlands. He is a specialist in sustainable (international) fresh supply chains. He has a broad international experience and network: Mexico, Argentina, Philippines, (Eastern) Europe and Balkan. Recently as project leader, he has designed the National Agrologistics Programme for the Ministry of Agriculture SAGARPA in Mexico.
As a son of a Dutch flower greenhouse farmer his driving force is to make knowledge applicable: bridging the gap between R&D and practice. His carrier is characterized by positions in the playing field of governmental organisations, advisory companies and (semi-) private companies.
