Shri Minhaj Alam, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries chaired the Foreign Missions Meet organised by FICCI on 17th May 2023 at New Delhi. The meeting saw the participation of representatives from over 60 countries, who were briefed about World Food India 2023.
Shri Preet Pal Singh, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries headed a delegation to Spain. The delegation participated in 3 roundtables & 19 one-on-one discussions with various stakeholders and extended an invitation to participate in World Food India 2023.

Smt. Anita Praveen, Secretary, FPI and other Senior Officials of MOFPI inaugurated MOFPI pavilion at Aahar 2023, , Pragati Maidan Exhibition Centre, New Delhi. The officials visited stalls and interacted with Food Processing Entrepreneurs and Beneficiaries who got the opportunity to exhibit at MoFPI pavilion.

Anita Praveen chaired a roundtable interaction with over 32 prominent industry players in Agri food sectors covering sub-segments such as RTE/C, Millets, F&V, Marine, Dairy and Nutraceuticals. The agenda of the roundtable was to apprise the Ministry’s plan of action as well as gather inputs of the industry players for the series of events to be organized throughout the year until the World Food India 2023.
Curtain Raiser Event to WFI 2023 was held today in National Media Centre, New Delhi and was attended by wide spectrum of representatives from Press & Media, various Central Ministries/Departments, State Resident Commissioners & Embassies apart from senior officers of the Ministry. During the event, promotional video, publicity brochure & a dedicated website for WFI 2023 was launched by Shri Pashupati Kumar Paras, Hon’ble Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, Govt of India and Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries and Jal Shakti, Govt of India.
A two-day Millet Mahotsav was organised by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries at Agra, Uttar Pradesh, from 3-4 March, 2023. The event was inaugurated by Minister of State for Law & Justice, Prof. SP Singh Baghel. Several dignitaries, including Additional Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Shri Minhaj Alam, were also present on the occasion.
A two-day Millets Mahotsav was organized from 28th February to 1st March 2023 at Bhojpur, Bihar. The event was inaugurated by Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Shri Pashupati Kumar Paras. During his inaugural address, Hon’ble Minister stated that due to the initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the United Nations declared the year 2023 as the International Year of Millets. The Mahotsav witnessed overwhelming participation from micro food processing enterprises, self-help groups, farmer-producer organizations, producer cooperatives, etc. All participants were invited to actively participate in World Food India 2023 between 3rd to 5th November 2023 at Pragati Maidan New Delhi.

Two-day Millets Conclave organised at Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh to bring all the stakeholders of the food processing sector with special focus on millets, on a common platform and and encompassed a wide range of activities like exhibition and sale of various millet-based products, informative sessions on millet processing, interactive sessions between industry experts and micro food processing enterprises, SHGs, FPOs engaged in food processing, Buyer Seller Meet.
Hon’ble Minister of State for Food Processing Industries, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel inaugurated Millets Mahotsav at Mandla, Madhya Pradesh on 21st January 2023.During the inaugural address, Hon’ble MoS FPI touched upon the importance of millets and the immense market potential for millet-based value-added products. The event witnessed an overwhelming response with more than 1000 participants attending the event including micro food processing enterprises, self-help groups, farmer producer organizations, producer cooperatives, etc.
Hon’ble Minister FPI, Shri Pashupati Kumar Paras led an official delegation consists of senior officials from the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, representatives of Invest India (as part of Investment Facilitation Cell) and the event partner Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) of the World Food India 2023, to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for participation in Gulfood 2023 and holding a roadshow on the side-lines from 20th to 24th February 2023. During the visit, the delegation interacted with leading agri-food companies and showcased myriad opportunities in Indian food processing sector. Industry players, Government authorities and other relevant stakeholders were also invited to actively participate in World Food India 2023 between 3rd to 5th November 2023 at Pragati Maidan New Delhi.
Roundtable of Secretary, FPI, with Embassies and High Commissions in India Secretary, FPI, Smt. Anita Praveen chaired a roundtable interaction with Foreign Missions in India on Thursday at Vigyan Bhawan Annexe, New Delhi. The roundtable witnessed participation from representatives of19 Foreign Missions in India which included HE Ambassadors of Serbia, Myanmar, and senior officials from New Zealand, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, France, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Australia, Japan, South Africa, Canada, Netherlands, and Mexico. Representatives from all countries were requested to create awareness about the event amongst senior policy makers, agri-food companies, academia etc. in their respective countries and actively participate as a Partner to make the event a grand success.
Secretary, FPI, Smt. Anita Praveen chaired a roundtable interaction with representatives of international industry associations / business chambers / trade agencies from 13 countries on the activities related to Mega Food Event 2023 on Thursday, 12th January 2023 at Vigyan Bhawan Annexe, New Delhi. International associations /business chambers were encouraged to leverage their network and extend additional support via combined promotional activities through the upcoming events planned by respective agencies. All the participants were keen on partnering with the Ministry and supporting them with various activities planned as a precursor to World Food India 2023.
Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Smt Anita Praveen chaired a roundtable interaction with senior officials from central ministries and departments on 15th December 2022 at Vigyan Bhawan Annexe, New Delhi. All the central ministries and departments were requested to share suggestions on the planned sessions of the Mega Food Event and participate in the event actively as well as support the Ministry in awareness creation, embark participation of senior policy makers, financial institutions, agri-food companies, FPOs / SHGs and all relevant stakeholders to make the event a grand success.
Resident commissioners and / or senior officials from 19 states were informed about Ministry’s plan to organize a mega food event World Food India 2023 which would provide a platform for the States and UTs to showcase State / UT-specific opportunities, interact with global and domestic business leaders, suppliers, purchasers, and technology providers for collaborations, and generate investment & sourcing interests across the value chain of food processing and food retail sectors. States & UTs were also requested to participate actively in the event, as well as support the Ministry in creating awareness, ensuring participation of senior policy makers, agri-food companies, FPOs / SHGs and all relevant stakeholders in the mega food event.

Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) along with its Investor Facilitation Cell (Invest India) participated in SIAL, Paris and interacted with global food processing and allied companies. All stakeholders were briefed about the International Mega Food Event – World Food India schedules in November 2023 and were invited to participate in the same actively.
