Shri Sanoj Kumar Jha, Addl Secy of MOFPI, along with representatives from Invest India and FICCI had a meeting with Mr Tust Thangsombat, President of the Thai Food Processor's Association in Bangkok. The objective was to discuss expanding business opportunities in the Indian food processing sector and their potential participation in World Food India 2023. The team also met with senior leaders of the Thai Union Group in Bangkok, Thailand, to gain insight into the country & policy and business ecosystem. The meeting resulted in a cordial invitation to participate in World Food India, a flagship event of MoFPI at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, scheduled for November 3-5, 2023.
The next day team also met with the Secretary-General of the Food and Drug Administration in Bangkok, Thailand. They discussed Thailand's licensing procedures and regulatory ecosystem and invited them to participate in WFI 2023.

Ministry of Food Processing Industries today organized Roundtable with Heads of Foreign Missions in India to discuss overseas participation in the World Food India (WFI) 2023, at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, New Delhi.
The interaction was co-chaired by Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Smt. Anita Praveen, and Special Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, Shri Prabhat Kumar. It was attended by Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Charge d' Affaires and other senior representatives from wide spectrum of countries. In all, 47 countries were represented in the interaction. Senior officers from Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Department of Commerce, APEDA, MPEDA and other Commodity Boards, apart from organizations associated with organizing the event (FICCI, Invest India & EY) participated in the deliberations.
